Goal: Re-envision an area of an already existing level
Team Size: 1
Development time: 3 Days
While playing Breeze I like defending on B a lot. I usually peek off the pillar on B Site into the window at B Main. The narrow short entrance creates a strong choke point to hold that can be held in a varying amount of ways with different characters. But I found this site to be a little difficult to approach as the Attackers depending on the team composition due to the that strong choke point.
The hall adds an additional point of entry from B Main to B Site. The other points of entry to this site are from Defenders spawn and through Mid. This hall adds to the main gameplay theme of Breeze in long lines of sight that can be held with a sniper rifle.
Current layout of B Site

Graybox from a birds eye view of the B Hall addition
The B Hall adds a lot of new opportunity for the Attackers to overtake B Site. The new entrance would give Attackers a new way to enter the site and more places for the Defenders to watch, this could lead to B site being easier for the Attackers to take.
B Hall adds a risk for Attackers as if they don't hold B Hall a sneaky Defender could potentially push them and flank their attack through B main. Pushing through Halls opposed to Main funnels the team that could lead to a fast push or a quick loss round as everyone is stacked together. Smokes are essential to a successful push and a well placed smoke at B Wall and B Back could lead to a successful taking of the site.
There are a ton of ways that adding B Halls impact gameplay strategy for the Attackers who want to go B. Here are a few ways the Attackers could approach this site:
Attackers send 3 Hall and 2 Main. Defenders have 2 on site watching both entry points. Idealy someone would be watching mid from Nest.
Attackers send 2 Hall 2 Main and 1 to watch a rotation through mid. Well placed smokes block the Defenders lines of site allowing for a safe entry onto site.
Attackers send 2 Hall, 1 Main, and 2 through mid. Well placed smokes allow the attackers to bypass the Defender watching mid. Defenders have sent 3 people to watch B site.
The creation of B Hall adds a lot of risk and reward for the Defenders. If avoided it could lead to a quick overtaking of B site and a potential lost round or even a game. If held correctly it could lead to a few early picks and valuable information on the Attackers whereabouts.
With the assumption that 2 Defenders are assigned to B Site, one will likely play further back around Pillar and another will play around Wall. In many cases I've seen Sage be picked and her wall ability used to block the entire entrance to B Site. The addition of B Hall would change how Attackers react to a Sage wall as there will be an opportunity for Attackers rotate through the new window connected to B Hall.
The Defender who currently plays around Pillar will likely change to play even further back on the site. Their reposition would be in favor of the long line of sight from the back of B Site all the way through B Hall. As shown in the example above there is a potential for that defense spot to be smoked off.
A well coordinated team might communicate that the Attackers are located in Mid to which a sneaky Defender playing B site might lurk up through B Hall to approach a flank onto the Attackers at Mid. They could also hold Hall for a bit and look out through the window into B Elbow.
The closure of A Hall in the current version of Breeze could lead to B Hall being a successful implementation. On the new Breeze released in Episode 7 Act 2 there are two ways for Attackers to approach each site. One through both A and B main, and one through Mid to each site. I feel that the changes that have been made take away from the personality of Breeze which was long lines of sight. While long lines of sight still exist as you are able to see down A Hall, there isn't much incentive for Attackers to go into A Hall as they'd be giving information away with no real gain.
So why add B Hall? To give more options to the attackers and move some the player that would have been watching A Hall to B Hall. Does that mean 3 Defenders holding B Site while 1 holds Mid Nest and 1 holds A Site? Yes, I think that could be a legitimate strategy. The new B Hall defender could sit waiting at the entrance to B Hall and once the spawn wall goes down, push into the small cubby area. Without the addition of B Halls defenders might just be too strong on Breeze as there is one less area (A Hall) that they have to worry about.
As a Killjoy main, setting a turret to look down B Hall and throwing a few swarm grenades down around the entrance to both Main and B Hall would be a potential set up. Sage would still be a valuable pick as she could wall off Main or Hall. Her slowing orbs could be extremely useful in slowing down Attackers in Hall as it's fairly narrow. If I were an Attacker I might leave B site as it might be more heavily guarded in favor of A, this is only if we have enough information to see that the Defenders have sent 3 B.
Overall this was a fun exploration of where the Breeze map could go. I learned a lot along the way with player position and lines of sight. Here are a few more renders of the graybox just for fun. Enjoy!
Here you can clearly see the two windows and the way a player could get into the right window.
This is the B Hall viewing window. Potential Defenders lurking up would have this view.
Rotating B from Mid you would be able to see into the cubby in B Hall.
